POSITION SUMMARY:
The crew member performs assignments as an entry level wildland firefighting crew member in developing a working knowledge of fire suppression and fuels management techniques, practices, and terminology. These members may assist in more specialized assignments such as structural firefighting, rescue operations, emergency medical operations and others. Training opportunities will be available for specialized assignments. This is a full-time, seasonal position. This position is considered a seasonal non-bargaining unit position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Documentation required:

High School diploma/ GED/ or equivalent
- Successful applicants will be required to take and pass the physical fitness Work Capacity Test at the arduous level
- Valid Driver’s license at time of hire
- Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening
- Ability to obtain passport
Desired Qualifications:
-
Prior Firefighting experience in wildland and/or structural fire
- Wildland Firefighter Type 2
- Wildland hand crew experience
- Forestry/logging experience or other experience with hand and power tools

SALARY: $89,052 – $92,676 annually
BENEFITS: 6% employee PERS paid by District
District matches up to 5% of deferred compensation (457)
District pays 90% of medical/ vision/ dental premium with
additional contributions of VEBA

POSITION SUMMARY:
Crew Boss/ Superintendent performs assignments as a wildland firefighter crew leader responding
to wildfires and executing fuels management projects.This position is a full time 40-hour per week.
These members may assist in more specialized assignments such as structural firefighting, rescue
operations, emergency medical operations and others.Training opportunities will be available for
specialized assignments.The Crew Boss position will be a supervisory role, overseeing the hand
crew.This position would be exempt from the bargaining unit.
